While staying at "Bricco Ottavio", you have the opportunity to visit two interesting Italian cities, Turin and Genoa.
Turin (www.turismotorino.org), a beautiful city of ancient squares and Baroque palaces, is just a 30 minute drive from the farm. Rich in history, the city became famous in 2006 for hosting the XX Olympic Winter Games. The city has over 40 cultural sites, a number of royal residences (www.residenzereali.it), the National Museum of Cinema (www.museonazionaledelcinema.org) and the Egyptian Museum , which has the largest Egyptian collection outside Cairo (www.museoegizio.it). The city is also great for shopping and hosts the largest outdoor market in Europe at "Porta Palazzo".
Genoa (www.turismo.comune.genova.it) is a 1 hour 30 minute drive from the farm. It is a city of contrasts where the remains of an ancient and glorious past stand alongside bold symbols of a new and forward thinking city... The old and new city are built around the Old Port where you may visit the Aquarium of Genoa (www.acquariodigenova.it ) and the Museum of the Sea (www.galatamuseodelmare.it).The old city has recently been restored. You may see its former glory for yourself at the "Palazzo Ducale" (www.palazzoducale.genova.it), the "Palazzi dei Rolli" UNESCO World Heritage (www.rolliestradenuove.it), and Via Garibaldi "Strada Nuova".
"Bricco Ottavio" is only a 10 minute drive from the train station Villanova d'Asti. Trains to Turin depart every hour (and will take you to the city centre in 30-45 minutes) and trains to Genoa depart every two hours.
